Messy Eater

Emily is a messy eater. She is very much into doing everything herself. We had Thai food a couple of weeks ago and she ate about half of the carton of sticky rice all by herself. Her chair and the floor ate the other half! She had a great time.

Miss Personality

Emily seems to have all the luck. She ended up with curly hair. (She didn't get that from me!) It is so darling and gets curlier all the time. She has really become Miss Personality lately, doing all kinds of funny things.

Emily loves looking in the mirror. I don't know if she has figured out the the person looking back at her is her or not. Chad often lifts her up on the couch so that she can see herself in the big mirror that is on the wall. The other day we caught admiring herself and then her giving her reflection a kiss on the mirror! She kept doing it over and over. It was too cute!

She's obsessed with belly buttons. Ever since she was a baby, we put her in onesies. Recently, we have decided that the having to tackle her to put the onesies on are not worth it. Consequently, she discovered her belly button! She walks around all the time caressing her tummy and putting her finger in her belly button! Ha! She's such a funny girl.

Easter Egg Hunt

HAPPY EASTER!

Spring may be in the air, but it is definitely not here yet. We took Emily out for an Easter egg hunt in our yard. Instead of the vision I had of her gathering eggs in her cute pink Easter dress, she was all bundled up in her pink winter coat. When we took her outside to let her hunt for eggs, it even started to SNOW! So much for a warm, spring day!

Although it was cold outside, Emily had a great time looking for the eggs. She loves being outside, but she also loves a challenge. She especially loved opening the eggs and eating the treats inside! She was trying to eat all of her Easter goodies in one bite.

She was surprised and delighted to see an Easter basket waiting for her when she woke up this morning. She also had a few added presents from both sets of grandparents! Thanks for the wonderful Easter presents! Emily loved them!

Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!

Little Miss Emily is beginning to be "Miss Personality". She has formed her own opinions and is not shy when it comes to expressing what she wants. On Sunday, Chad was passing the sacrament. Emily, noticing that Daddy was not sitting with us, started to say, "Daddy? Daddy?". I whispered quietly to her that he was passing the sacrament and pointed to where he was standing. Once she saw him, she began to shout excitedly, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!", repeatedly. I tried to quiet her down, but there was no stopping her. I ended up taking her out in the hallway, giggling inside the whole way. I felt bad that we had disrupted the sacrament, but really, it was the cutest thing ever! From the smiles of everyone around, I don't think anyone minded too much.

Once in the foyer, I put Emily down so she could walk around and hopefully calm down. Not a chance! She just kept walking back towards the chapel doors shouting, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" with a big smile on her face. I even tried taking her into the mother's lounge, but she kept declaring her request. When they were finished passing the sacrament, we went back in the chapel. She got to sit with daddy and give him a nice big hug. What can I say,... she LOVES her daddy!

Whee!

This morning Emily and I went to Books and Babies at the library. She really enjoys all the songs they sing and books they read. She especially loves interacting with the other children. Emily is such a social baby! She loves to meet new friends.

Today we got a taste of spring weather. I took Emily to the park across the street from the library to swing on the swings. She loved it! The whole time she giggled and said, "Whee!" It was very cute.

Ducky Sailor Dress

Last Sunday was a warmer day for us. Emily finally got to wear her cute little ducky sailor dress that Aunt Katie gave her for her birthday. She looked darling! She liked the ducks on the dress and the matching socks. Everyone told us how cute she looked and loved the dress. We loved it too!
