Happy Birthday Chad!

Chad's birthday was August 16. We celebrated all day! In the morning, Emily helped me decorate the kitchen and make breakfast. We let Chad sleep in and then had a birthday breakfast together complete with Chad's favorite blueberry muffins. Later, he opened presents and went to see the new Batman movie.

That evening we drove to Kansas City to have BBQ Ribs at Arthur Bryant's (his favorite!). Unfortunately, the Chiefs had a game that night so we had a long wait. Emily decided to find many ways to entertain herself. Most of them included climbing up chairs and running around. Good thing it's always worth the wait!

We topped the evening off with Chad's traditional
German Chocolate birthday cake and ice cream. Yummy!

Emily watched closely as Chad lit the candles and blew them out.

She decided she needed to make a wish too! It was very cute!
