Graduation

Chad is an official Master's graduate! We attended his Hooding Ceremony this morning. He has worked extremely hard over the past 2 years, balancing school, work, family and church responsibilities. We are so proud of his accomplishment! Congratulations Chad!

Pigtails and Popsicles!!!!

Emily is already adorable, but now she can wear PIGTAILS! How cute is that? We went to the park with the Becks yesterday. Emily had a great time playing with her friends. She especially loves go down the slides and swing on the swings. Unfortunately, Emily thinks that she can do everything the big kids can do. She had a "run-in" with the "big kid swing" and it left its mark right across her face. Poor kid. After all the excitement we decided to take a popsicle break in the grass. As you can see, Emily really enjoyed eating her first popsicle! It also left a mark--Ha!

Sylas and Maddy's Ice Cream

So, there's this fantastic ice cream shop in Lawrence called Sylas and Maddy's. All their ice cream is homemade and it is delicious! Chad came home from school last Friday and decided that we needed to celebrate the ending of our crazy week with ice cream. Emily even joined in the fun and sampled some! YUMMY!

A day at the pool

Emily and I got to spend a lot of time with my sisters and their cute boys. We took a day to relax at the pool. Emily looked so ADORABLE in her new swimming suit! She loves being outside, and possibly loves being in the water even more. It was a nice warm day, but the water was a bit cold at first. It took Emily and Brayden only a few minutes to decide that they loved the pool! They splashed the water in pure delight! We had a great time. Thanks Katie!

Just when you thought she couldn't get any cuter...

SO CUTE!

SO HANDSOME!

Learning to share is tough when your one!

Photo Shoot

While in Florida we attempted a photo shoot of the little ones. But, as you well know, trying to take a good group picture of three toddlers is a challenge. They were on the go most of the time, which made for a lot of action shots. We survived with only a few melt downs. The pictures turned out pretty cute all things considered!

Florida Trip

Chad decided to attended a conference in Miami in April. It made for a good excuse go to Florida to visit my family. As always, we had a great time being with everyone and took lots of pictures. I decided to break them up into several different posts.

Emily was in good spirits when we left and had a great time on the bus ride from the parking lot to the airport. She kept signing bus and plane as she looked out the window. However, the plane ride was a bit rough. Emily spent most of her time on the plane trying to escape past Chad into the aisle. As a toddler, Emily has now considers it her right to explore her surroundings whenever she wants. One of the main problems was that we forgot Emily's pacifier in the car, and she let us know the WHOLE WAY THERE that she was not happy about it. All things considered, she did pretty well. I called my mom from the airport before take-off and she had one waiting for her when we arrived in Orlando. Unfortunately, I told her the wrong kind to buy and Emily refused to use it. So after loading up the luggage into the car, we made a mad dash to Wal-mart to buy her a pacifier. Things were much better after that...for everyone.

The next day, we got to visit with everyone. We had a wonderful time hanging out with my family. It was especially fun, because "the cousins" got to spend some time together. Erin and Faron brought Brayden's Kangaroo Climber for all the kids to play with. It was a HUGE hit, and ended up being their entertainment for the whole trip! Emily was a little timid at first, but once she got comfortable with it, we couldn't tear her away from it.
