Tinkerbell Hard At Work
Ever since her birthday, she has dressed up like Tinkerbell everyday. Chad had taken out the vacuum so he could vacuum the living room and Emily decided that she would like to give it a try. It turns out that Tinkerbell really likes vacuuming and is pretty good at it as well. I don't think it will stick throughout her teenage years, but for now she's having fun!
Birthday Lunch at "Old McDonalds"
When offered to take Emily out for lunch on her birthday. Guess what fine dining she chose? You got it..."Old McDonalds"! Needless to say, she had lunch and we ate at home. They recently renovated our play place and Emily was excited to check it out. She had a fun time playing with all the new toys.
First Snow
Emily LOVES the snow. Like father, like daughter...I guess it's in her genes. She wanted to go out and play in the snow the minute it started snowing. She really wanted to build a snowman. It was just a light dust, so there wasn't enough snow for snowmen that day, but she loved making a snowball! Even Annie put on her "little bear" suit for the occasion!
Christmas Fun
Emily and her friend, Nyah, making bead candy canes.
I have several of these little trees from when I taught school. We store them in the garage. Last year she saw them and decided that she wanted to have her own Christmas tree in her room. Now it is tradition! This year she decided to decorate it "all by myself". Notice the two candy canes hanging on the tree. Ha!
Her "presents" under the tree were part of an advent calendar. She got to open a book to read every night at bedtime. Each one was a Christmas story. Some were books we own, others library books and some new ones too! This was something we started last year as well. She looked forward to getting a "present" every night and read fun stories together!
